In research papers and journal submissions, it is important to carefully select analytical methods based on the characteristics of the data and organize the results in an academically appropriate manner. In this project as well, we focused onorganizing the analysis while taking the characteristics of categorical data into accountand presenting the results in a form that could be readily incorporated into the manuscript.
Analytical Support Based on the Characteristics of Nominal-Scale Data
For qualitative data consisting of nominal scales, rather than the magnitude of numerical values themselves,the relationships among categories and the underlying structureare central considerations in organizing the analysis.
Therefore, it is necessary to go beyond simple tabulation and organize the overall analytical strategy while considering what type of factor structure may be relevant to the research objective. In this project, we supported the analysis with the characteristics of the data and the direction of the paper in mind, including the potential applicability of factor analysis.
Support for Organizing Results with Research Papers and Journal Submissions in Mind
For journal submissions, it is important not only to conduct the analysis but alsoto design how the results should be presented so that readers and reviewers can understand them readily.This presentation strategy is an important part of the analysis plan.
Accordingly, in this project we did not simply present the factor-analysis results as numerical tables. We organized them for use in the manuscript while considering the research objective, questionnaire structure, and relationship to the discussion. By ensuring consistency between the presentation of analytical results and the paper's argument, we supported a more persuasive presentation of the research findings.
